Sutter Regional Medical Foundation (SRMF) is proud to have Gary Matsumura, M.D., board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, join the professional medical team at its Vallejo medical offices.

After earning his undergraduate and medical school degrees from Loma Linda University, Dr. Matsumura completed his residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Matsumura’s primary practice with SRMF remains in Fairfield and Vacaville, where he has been seeing patients for the past 25 years.

“I truly enjoy the privilege of helping my patients through the most momentous occasions of their lives,” says Dr. Matsumura. “I also enjoy the challenge of dealing with both the medical and surgical components of patient care.”

Dr. Matsumura is known for tailoring the birth experience to his patients’ desires and needs. He considers himself informal and friendly, and enjoys using his sense of humor as he gets to know patients during the prenatal care period.

Dr. Matsumura has been married for 30 years and he was present for the births of his two children—as the father rather than the doctor. In his limited free time, he enjoys playing tennis.
