Ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist new to area

Ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist Julie Chen, M.D., practices with Solano Regional Medical Group, the multispecialty medical group affiliated with Sutter Regional Medical Foundation. She sees patients in our Ophthalmology Departments in Fairfield and Vacaville.

Physician Background
Dr. Chen received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston. She completed her internship at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto and an ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

In addition to caring for general ophthalmology and cataract patients, Dr. Chen has a particular interest in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma patients. She is actively involved in glaucoma research, and has authored recent publications on laser and surgical treatments for glaucoma.

Prior to joining Solano Regional Medical Group, Dr. Chen served as a clinical instructor of Ophthalmology at UCSF. In her free time, Dr. Chen enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family. She is conversational in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
