New orthopedic surgeon now seeing patients in Fairfield and Vallejo

Orthopedic surgeon Douglas Dennis, M.D., has joined Solano Regional Medical Group, the multispecialty medical group affiliated with Sutter Regional Medical Foundation. He is now seeing patients in our Orthopedic Department in Fairfield and Vallejo.

Physician Background
Dr. Dennis received his medical degree from University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and an orthopedic surgery research fellowship at University of California Davis Health System.

From 1992 through 1996, Dr. Dennis served in the United States Air Force at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief for C-5, C-130 and C-141 aircrafts.

His professional interests are in sports medicine, trauma and joint reconstruction. He’s also the recipient of numerous honors and awards, such as the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation’s Resident Research Award, University of California San Francisco Medical Student Research Award, Regent’s Scholar and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Student Fellowship honor, just to name a few.

In his free time Dr. Dennis enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and Zeus, the family dog. He is a professional boxing ringside physician, and he also enjoys boxing, running, golfing and coaching youth basketball.
